Chapter 5: The Fear

After the test, you have joined Circus. After Joker showed you around with Black and Smile, they left you three alone, Beast wished you good luck then gave a cold glare at Black, what did he do to cause her to hate him this much, what you saw at the doctor's tent was something glued to your mind. While you were stretching, you couldn't figure out how you have a fear of heights, you never had them when you were little, that's because you didn't look at the ground when you jump roof-top to roof-top, but why now? While you were thinking, two figures came in front of you, Smile and Black. They had a serious look on their faces.

"Yes Smile, Black." "What are you doing here?" "Joining the circus with my long lost family and friends, what are you doing here, 'Smile'." That set him off. "Like I have to tell you. You still never apologized when you bumped into me yesterday." "You bumped into me, now what's your real name?"

"Finnian." He replied, "Hah, like you fooled me, now I'll repeat myself..." You got up from stretching and head towards Smile, "What's your real name?" He was scared now. "I'm afraid we can't chat anymore-" "Hold on, how do you know the first-stringers? They all seem to know you."

"I know them since I was 7 but not Snake, I didn't meet him till after your friend started flirting with the tiger. Now I must go practice, excuse me."
After your little chat, you now know a new member of the group, Suit. An uptight man with a weird staff and spectacles in a flashy suit, he kept going on about Black being a Demon and Suit saying that He's a reaper. 'Welcome to the circus, where all the freaks and outcasts meet.' Oh yeah, this is life.
While you were practicing Doll came up to you, "Shadow, may I talk to you?" She said "Sure Doll." "Are you okay, today you were a bit, not you." "Huh?"
You had no idea what she means, "What do you mean, Doll?" You ask her simply confused, "Today during the tightrope walk, you were shaking and nearly fell, are you okay? Do you have a fear?" You didn't reply, you just stared at the ground. "(F/N)?" "Yes." "Hm?" "I'm afraid of heights, okay?" She then proceeded to grab your hand, "I'll help you okay, and you won't have to be afraid no more." You lifted your head and sighed, "I don't know." She straightened your face to look at her's, "Please let me help you~." "Fine!" "Okay follow me." You proceeded to climb up to the tightrope, Doll then started to guide you, "All right now just across walk and don't look down." Oh sure you thought, you know that won't be easy for you, "Like that will help!" "Don't be a baby!" She pushed you and you fell into the net.

"Oops sorry Shadow!" Doll yelled down, 'She did that on purpose', you and Doll kept practicing and practicing, but you kept falling, "I'm never gonna get the hang of this!" You said in frustration, Doll then came to you, "Not like that you won't (F/N), now just one more time, please that's it." "No. I'll just fall again." "Aw, is the greatest thief you call yourself afraid of heights~?" She teased, "Fine! I'll do it, just so I don't damage my pride." You said climbing up

"All right, now just-eh?" She looked at you and was confused, you were already on the rope, half way to the other side. You slowly made your way, then it happened again you lost your balance, but this time your feet caught the rope and you spun yourself back up. Then you were close,but when you looked down, your sight started shaking, you snapped out of it and proceeded to the other side, you made it. "Well done Shadow now come back to me!" Doll shouted, You decided to take it up a notch, you sprinted towards the rope, you somersaulted on the rope and then did a cart-wheel over it and landed behind Doll. She turned around and saw you standing there, She hugged you.

"You did it!" She squealed then kissed you on the lips, "Well I must go now, bye (n/n)." You stood there then turned your head to watch her go to Joker, "Thanks Doll, with out you I am nothing. You are my Precious Doll, and you always will be."

~~~~~~~~Next day~~~~~~~~
Looks like Wendy twisted her ankle, she can't do the performance, I get to perform with Doll. The two substituting for Peter and Wendy is Black and Suit, great, a butler and a man who lives in his own fantasy, what do you call it, ah who cares, the man is insane. During the performance, you were shaking, nervous.

"Up next is our death-defying tightrope walker princess, Doll! With a new member, Shadow!" Doll was on the tightrope, waiting, you backed up then took off full speed, the crowd watched as you appeared out of nowhere, you did the somersaults and cart-wheeled then Doll did the hand stand and you landed on her feet. You then jumped to the other side with a few front-flips. Then Doll catapulted to the other side and the audience went nuts. They went crazier when they saw Black and Suit's trapeze act. Well at-least the performance was a success.

~~~~~~~~Later that night~~~~~~~~
Smile has Asthma. Not good, how did he get it, oh wait, he had a shower out in the middle of the freezing cold because of Doll in her boy disguise, she also saw something on his back, a mark on his back, she told you. Later when you came to check on Smile, you saw something that will never leave your mind. You walked past the first-stringers tents and heard a gasping from Beast's tent. "Hm, I wonder what was that?" You peaked inside Beast's tent, and your face was now head to toe red. You ran deep into the forests, when you were clear, you were hysterical, you couldn't stop laughing at the sight you've seen. The position Beast and Black were in, priceless, you never laughed this hard in your life, you nearly passed out. You went to the Doctor's medical tent to see Smile, and when you saw him you saw Doll, in her boy outfit. You felt something what was it, jealousy, no, it can't be, they are just friends, he doesn't know.

~~~~~~~~Next morning~~~~~~~~
Smile,Black,and Suit are gone. Where are they, where did they go, you had no idea, later that night Joker and the rest weren't there either, only Snake. It was getting dark out and you got worried. You went up to ask Snake, "Hey Snake where is everyone?" "Joker went to go meet father. Says Wordsworth." Lord Kelvin, what is he doing over there, "The rest of the troupe?" "They went on some mission. Says Emile" So Doll must be with the rest of the troupe, "Doll is going to meet Joker and Father." Says Snake, 'Oh, I hope she is alright.' "Yesterday Smile and Black were in our tents looking for something." You froze at the sound of that, "What?" "Smile and Black were in our tents. Says Oscar." Why would they do that? You thought. You needed to talk to Joker. You got on a horse.

"Hiya!" The horse neighed and you were off.

~~~~~~~Doll's P.O.V~~~~~~~
I continued my way to Father's, I hope Joker won't get upset by the-what the hell is this?!
Doll stopped the horse,"What is this? What the hell is this?" The mansion was on fire, it was burning. Oh no Father, Joker! "Father, Joker. Father, Joker!" The flames grew big and saw two people come out. Smile, Black what are they doing here and why is Smile's eye Purple? "Smile, Black what are you doing here, Smile are you okay, hey Smile that's not funny cut it out-" *Smack* "Don't touch me so freely!" Smile yelled. "We've been investigating a series of child abductions, on Her Majesty's Orders." Black spoke "So you really are with the yard? You came to catch us?!" "No, not at all. We came to erase you. In the name of Phantomive, the Queen's Guard Dog." His eyes glowed bright red. Queen's Guard dog... Phantomive? "Don't tell me, Smile. Your Phantomive? You lied, all of it was a lie?" Ciel Phantomive aka Smile spoke, "That's right, it was all a lie, I killed them both. Kelvin and Joker..."
~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~
"I think we should do a business with father, a circus! For (F/N)!" "Yeah! I want to be a knife-thrower!" "I want to be a Beast tamer!" "We'll all have stage names, you'll be Dagger!" "Wuh!?" "And you'll be Beast!" "Uh?!" Doll then stood up, "What about me I want one! Give me a name brother!" Joker smirked "All right you'll be Doll!" Doll blushed and the others laughed, "I don't want a girl name! It doesn't fit me." "But you get a girl name, because you're our little sister."

Third person P.O.V
Doll starts to tear up, she falls to her knees and breaks down, "You'll pay... for this..." "You'll pay, You'll pay, You'll pay, You'll pay for this!" "SMILE!" Doll draws her knife and charges at them, Sebastian just stands there holding Ciel, motionless and emotionless. Her candy, lollipop, falls out of the bag and falls to the ground. "Sebastian." "DOLL!" Someone screams, Sebastian then moves. Then something or someone pushes Doll.
  *Splat*
